My approach to therapy is based in relational and family systems theory as well as mindfulness-based philosophy and practice. Many of us moved through challenges in incredibly adaptive ways (often talked about as trauma), yet these ways can leave us and our nervous system's burdened and limited. I have trained in specific trauma-focused frameworks that address working with the various adaptations that result from life's affect on our mental and emotional systems. I have most experience with and work most often work with PTSD, Mood, Anxiety, Depression and ADHD symptoms in adults.
I have a training and experience in family and relational systems therapy, body-psychotherapy therapy, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, EMDR, mindfulness-based and trauma-informed meditation and movement therapy. Together we can explore your goals and make a plan to work to restore your inner balance.
Inclusion Statement:
I acknowledge the systemic and structural issues that affect clients within and outside of a therapeutic setting. I continue to work on promoting diversity, equity, and love in client relationship and communities I participate in and around the world.
As a therapist, I believe I am responsible for creating a more just, equal, and inclusive place for all. I acknowledge how white supremacy has oppressed Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian people, and other people of color and I am actively working to decolonize myself and my work.
I recognize the oppression, abuse and exclusion the LGBTQIA+ community has experienced in our patriarchal society. I aim to work with you to deconstruct limiting beliefs about how life should be enjoyed. **I believe not only in showing compassion and continually learning about forms of oppression, but also to actively speak out against injustices experienced by oppressed communities.**
I continually work to eradicate heteronormativity and exclusive language in my practice. I want to honor each individual I work with and their unique lived experience so they may find the support, confidence and community they are hoping to nurture.
